QatarEnergy is hiring a Senior Foreman (Mechanical) on a contract basis in Ras Laffan, Qatar. The role focuses on managing and supervising contract work for preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical and utility systems and equipment. The aim is to keep utility systems, piping, wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) and infrastructure at RLC reliable and highly available.
Main responsibilities
- Manage, supervise and control contract work on assigned assets and facilities.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment and utility systems.
- Make sure QatarEnergy corporate design and construction regulations, policies and standards are put into practice.
- Carry out maintenance schedules and support budgeting and cost estimating.
- Assign and supervise workers, and build good working relationships with managers, employees and contractor staff.
Experience and skills
- At least 5 to 7 years of total mechanical trade experience, preferably in facilities and utilities within the oil and gas or petrochemical process industries.
- A working knowledge of the methods, materials, practices and equipment used in repair and maintenance.
- Good PC skills, including MS Office, maintenance software and SAP Maintenance.
- Good supervisory, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and the safety precautions needed for the work.
- Good spoken and written English.
- A valid driver’s licence.
Education
- An associate degree.
- A mechanical engineering diploma or equivalent from an internationally recognised university or institution.
Other details
This is a contract position based at Ras Laffan. Knowledge of Arabic is considered an advantage.
