Em Sherif by the Sea in Qatar is looking for a Head Waitress to oversee front-of-house operations and keep guests happy throughout their dining experience. The role centres on exceptional customer service, well-organised seating and a team of waitstaff who deliver service to a high standard.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise waitstaff, assign duties and make sure service standards are upheld.
- Greet guests, help with seating and deal with enquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Train new team members on service procedures, menu knowledge and customer interaction.
- Create work schedules that provide adequate cover during peak hours and special events.
- Co-ordinate with kitchen and bar staff so that food and drinks reach guests accurately and on time.
- Resolve complaints tactfully, aiming for a result the guest is happy with.
- Keep dining areas, including tables, chairs and floors, clean and presentable at all times.
- Encourage upselling and promote special offers to support revenue.
- Oversee cash handling, including payments, giving change and reconciling registers at the end of each shift.
- Prepare reports, manage reservations and keep seating charts up to date.
What you will need
- A thorough understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods and special dietary considerations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and delegate.
- Exceptional organisational skills for busy service periods.
- Quick thinking and problem-solving under pressure.
Candidates should have at least five years of working experience, including three years in a relevant role. Two years of GCC experience is a plus. The education requirement is a high school diploma in a food and beverage related course.
