United Food Services is hiring a Hostess in Qatar to welcome and seat guests, manage reservations and keep the dining experience running smoothly. This is a customer-facing role in which you act as an ambassador for the restaurant’s service and cuisine.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests on arrival and create a warm, friendly atmosphere.
- Seat guests according to reservations, walk-ins and table availability, making good use of the space.
- Manage the waiting list, estimating wait times accurately and keeping guests updated.
- Take bookings through the reservation system, confirm them and handle special requests or changes.
- Recommend menu items and accommodate seating preferences.
- Keep the waiting area and entrance clean, tidy and well organised.
- Liaise with servers and kitchen staff so that service flows smoothly and tables turn over on time.
- Deal with guest complaints promptly and professionally.
- Help servers during busy periods, for example by bringing drinks to waiting guests or clearing tables.
- Take payments from walk-in guests and reconcile cash at the end of the shift.
What You Will Need
- A good understanding of restaurant operations, including seating, reservations and service flow.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise during busy periods.
- Quick thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Close attention to detail.
- At least 5 years of work experience, including 3 years in a relevant role. Experience in the GCC is an advantage.
- A high school diploma in any related field; related technical certificates are also relevant.
Other Details
The role is based in Qatar. Strong guest relations, reception and reservation management skills are central to the position.
