QatarEnergy is hiring a Head, Construction (Subsea) on a contract basis in Doha, Qatar. The role leads subsea installation work for the BH Redevelopment Project. The post holder oversees offshore installation activities and makes sure they meet QatarEnergy’s requirements for safety, quality, environment and technical standards.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead subsea installation work for the BH Redevelopment Project, including pipelines, umbilicals, skids, tie-in spools, risers, J-tubes, sleepers, mattresses and related components.
- Make sure installation engineering support and onshore fabrication of risers, sleepers, J-tubes and tie-in spools follow the approved Scope of Work, AFC drawings and QatarEnergy standards and specifications.
- Act as the link between the Assistant Manager Construction, the Asset Holder, the Contractor and the Senior Installation Supervisors.
- Give guidance to Senior Construction Supervisors and the Contractor so that all offshore subsea activities meet QatarEnergy requirements.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience in offshore subsea installation projects, including pipelines, umbilicals and power or composite cables.
- Strong experience delivering offshore Oil and Gas EPIC projects.
- Proven ability in offshore construction supervision, inspections and contractor management.
- Experience reviewing and approving construction method statements, inspection plans, schedules and technical drawings.
- Sound knowledge of industry standards and of quality, HSE and environmental requirements.
- Ability to identify project risks and develop practical solutions.
- Experience leading multinational and multicultural workforces.
- Excellent communication skills and good English language proficiency.
Education
- A B.Sc. in Engineering or Construction Management from a recognised university, or a Diploma in Engineering or Petroleum Engineering, or an HND, Advanced Diploma or L3 (SVQ/NVQ-L3) or equivalent.
- Relevant courses in Safety, Quality Control and Construction.
Useful Details
Experience as a Company Site Representative is an advantage. The role is a contract position based in Doha, and a bachelor degree is required.
