TITLE: Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor Job at QatarEnergy, Qatar

QatarEnergy is hiring a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor for offshore oil and gas production and processing facilities at PS-2 in Qatar. The main purpose of this role is to keep these facilities safe, sound and sustainable over the long term. The supervisor manages mechanical maintenance across the site so that equipment stays reliable and meets the department’s quality standards.
A mechanical maintenance supervisor in the oil and gas sector usually plans and oversees maintenance work, checks that it is carried out to the right standard, and makes sure the team follows safety and quality procedures. The role also involves solving faults on equipment and making sure that repairs restore it to proper working order.
Key responsibilities
- Manage mechanical maintenance programmes that match the department’s quality policy for the integrated offshore production and processing facilities.
- Carry out quality mechanical maintenance so that integrity and reliability requirements are met for offshore assets.
- Oversee the maintenance of process packaged equipment, rotating and static equipment, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Look after valves, including emergency shutdown (ESD) valves and pressure safety valves (PSVs).
- Maintain living quarter civil equipment, HVAC systems, material handling equipment and lifting equipment.
- Ensure safety equipment, such as lifeboats and firefighting equipment, is kept in good condition.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in the installation, maintenance, repair and fault finding of similar equipment in the petrochemical industry.
- A Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in a relevant engineering discipline.
- The ability to read and understand drawings, P&IDs (piping and instrumentation diagrams), and cause and effect charts for complex packages.
- Good understanding of mechanical and rotating equipment and machines, and of their control systems.
