QatarEnergy is hiring an Operations Supervisor (Potable Water) on a contract basis at Ras Laffan, Qatar. The role focuses on running the potable water operation at assigned facilities. The supervisor manages the people, plant and equipment so that they run safely and efficiently and meet the requirements of the asset operators.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise operating staff, plant and equipment at the assigned facilities.
- Work with asset operators and other operations sections to plan and coordinate planned and emergency shutdowns.
- Identify plant modifications when they are needed.
- Develop operating procedures.
- Authorise work permits for maintenance and project activities.
- Make sure all call-off contracts are used in an optimised way.
- Maintain the highest health, safety and environment (HSE) standards for plant and personnel, following established guidelines.
- Manage HSE within contracts in line with corporate guidelines.
- Provide operations and maintenance input to project documents, and make sure projects are handed over properly at turnaround.
Requirements
- 10 to 12 years of experience in utility operation, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role in a major utility department.
- Experience with complex control systems, including DCS and PLCs, in a multi-industry setting where utilities are distributed fairly.
- A strong working knowledge of utility operations.
- A good level of spoken and written English.
- A university degree in engineering, plus sound knowledge of operations.

The role is a contract position based at Ras Laffan, and the required experience is 10 to 12 years. Candidates should be comfortable working in a high-standard HSE environment and handling complex control systems every day.
