QatarEnergy is offering an internship for a Sr. QA/QC Engineer in Qatar. The role centres on leading quality management expertise for the department and making sure that work meets QatarEnergy standards, international standards and regulatory requirements. The post holder also monitors all quality-related activities on assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the provision of expertise on the department’s Quality Management System (QMS).
- Ensure compliance with QatarEnergy standards, international standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor all quality-related activities on assigned projects.
Essential Requirements
- IRCA Certified QMS Lead Auditor certification.
- ASNT Level II certification in RT, MT, PT or UT.
- Certifications in welding and painting inspection from internationally recognised bodies such as AWS, CSWIP or TWI.
- At least 15 years of relevant oil and gas experience with an internationally recognised EPIC contractor or an end user or owner organisation, covering pipelines and process plants.
- Hands-on experience on major EPIC projects, across all EPIC phases, from working level up to independently managing or heading the QA/QC function, with technical expertise in a core discipline.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing inspection and certification processes for equipment and materials, and of associated QA and QC practices.
- Working knowledge of using and interpreting Shell DEPs and international codes and standards, including ASME, ASTM, NACE, AWS, API, BS and ISO.
- Sound welding and NDT knowledge is a must.
Desirable Experience
- Professional certification or affiliation with international quality organisations such as CQI, ASQ or similar.
- Experience working from corporate offices, with functional responsibility for coordinating and managing several projects at the same time.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering from an internationally recognised organisation, or an equivalent qualification.
