QatarEnergy is looking for a General Operator I (Crude) to work in Qatar. You will support the Shift Supervisor with daily operations, covering planned routine work and tasks that come up unexpectedly. The role plays a direct part in keeping important facilities running. Because errors during shutdown or startup can have serious consequences, careful and accurate work is essential.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist the Shift Supervisor with normal, routine and non-routine operations.
- Help maintain the running of critical facilities.
- Carry out operations during plant shutdowns and startups with great care.
- Work rotating shifts and longer hours when the work requires it.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of operations experience across several units in a refinery or chemical plant.
- Two years of technical training, such as a CNAQ Diploma or an equivalent qualification.
- An associate degree is the education level listed. A Higher Secondary Certificate or equivalent is also mentioned.
- A minimum English level of Level 4.
- Team leadership skills, with good surveillance, analysis and vigilance abilities.
- Good knowledge of operational procedures.
- Full working knowledge of the relevant units and their protection systems.
- Completed health, safety and environment (HSE) training.
About the Role
A general operator usually monitors plant equipment, checks readings and follows the instructions of the shift team to keep operations safe and steady. In this position, you will need to be ready to work different shift patterns and to stay alert for long periods, because the work affects the wider plant.
The advert emphasises that this role requires strong attention to safety, clear teamwork and a solid understanding of how plant systems work together. Candidates who meet the experience, training and language requirements listed above are the focus of this vacancy.
