QatarEnergy is hiring a Head of Project Controls and Services for a contract role based in Doha, Qatar. The person in this role will lead the Project Services team, which includes a Senior Cost Engineer, a Senior Planning Engineer and a Senior Document Controller. The role covers the project control and support functions that keep a large energy project on track.
The main purpose of the job is to make sure the NFA Sustainability Project moves through its Feasibility and Concept Optimisation Study, FEED and EPIC stages on time and within budget, in line with the project requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Project Services team and guide the work of its senior engineers and document controller.
- Manage project costs and control budgets across all stages.
- Oversee planning and scheduling of the project.
- Administer contracts and manage accounts payable.
- Run document control and general administrative services.
- Prepare project reports for management and stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of experience in the Oil and Gas sector, including at least 8 years in a senior project control role.
- Working knowledge of Primavera P6, P6 Analytics, Primavera Risk Analysis, MS Project, MS Office and SAP.
- Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution and presentation skills.
- Experience in major project execution, covering engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning and start-up.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Membership of a recognised professional engineering association or institution.
