QatarEnergy is hiring a Process Engineer on a contract basis in Qatar. The role provides technical support to oil movement and tank farm operations. The post covers process safety, quality control and loss prevention, and it leads process troubleshooting. The aim is to keep crude oil, naphtha and condensate storage and export safe, efficient and reliable, while making the best use of existing facilities.
Main responsibilities
- Provide technical support across oil movement and tank farm operations.
- Lead process troubleshooting when problems arise.
- Oversee process safety, quality control and loss prevention.
- Coordinate projects that upgrade, modify or add systems in oil movement and tank farm facilities.
- Work with engineering teams, consultants, contractors and other departments through every project stage, from early planning and design to commissioning and handover.
Requirements
- 10 to 12 years of experience in plant and process design in refineries or oil processing plants, including at least 6 years in a senior supervisory, engineering or technical services role.
- In-depth experience using computer simulation packages such as Provision, Hysys and Pro-II, along with other engineering design packages and spreadsheets such as Excel.
- A Bachelor degree in chemical engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- High fluency in both written and spoken English.
Preferred qualifications
- Formal training in process simulation or computer operations.
- Chartered membership of a professional institute.
