QatarEnergy is hiring a Professional Development Advisor to work in Doha, Qatar. The role supports the company’s professional development work, with the aim of raising the technical skills of its employees across the organisation.
About the role
The advisor will help shape the processes that guide how employees grow in their careers. This includes job families and career paths, competency definitions, learning solutions, and assessment and development plans. The work is designed to build technical capability throughout the business.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage professional development processes, including job families and career paths.
- Define competencies and help design learning solutions.
- Support assessment and the creation of individual development plans.
- Advise members of the Job Family Group Council.
- Work with staff and interface representatives from other areas of the business.
- Encourage and teach colleagues to set development goals and objectives, and guide them in carrying out their action plans.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in a related area of the business.
- At least 15 years of experience, including a minimum of 10 years in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong personal competence and credibility, so that you can give advice at council level and influence others.
- Self-motivation and the ability to organise your own work in a matrix organisation with many interfaces.
- The ability to coach and teach others in setting development goals.
Good to know
This role sits within a matrix organisation, so you will regularly work across several teams and departments. Strong communication and the confidence to influence people at different levels will be central to success in the position.
