About this type of role
A safety officer in the oil and gas sector usually checks that work sites follow safety rules, coaches workers and supervisors, and reviews how well safety programmes are working. In drilling, this often means working closely with field crews as well as office teams, so good communication and practical experience of field operations are valuable.
