QatarEnergy is hiring a Senior IT Engineer for Enterprise Architecture in Doha, Qatar. The role focuses on how the company’s IT systems are planned, connected and governed across the organisation, and it combines hands-on technical work with leadership of architecture standards and governance.
An enterprise architect usually looks at the whole technology picture of an organisation. This includes setting out models and standards, reviewing new projects against them, and keeping architectural documents accurate so that different systems can work together.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain the enterprise architecture framework, including principles, standards, guidelines, procedures, reference architectures, target architectures, capability models and technology roadmaps.
- Assess IT initiatives to confirm they follow approved principles and reference architectures.
- Manage Architecture Review Board activities, from reviewing requests and arranging planning and alignment sessions with board members to running compliance checks and recording decisions.
- Look after the architecture repository and keep architectural assets and documentation accurate across all enterprise architecture domains.
- Research emerging technologies and business technology investments, then suggest practical use cases to support digital progress and a stronger competitive position.
- Prepare solution roadmaps and architectural blueprints so that new solutions and changes fit smoothly into the existing IT landscape.
- Operate the enterprise architecture tool and update it as business processes, data, applications and technology change.
- Lead communication about architecture governance so that stakeholders understand and follow the standards.
- Produce guidance for IT staff that encourages continuous learning, and support the section head with the career development of Qatari personnel.
Requirements
- At least 9 years of experience in an enterprise IT environment.
- At least 4 of those years in enterprise architecture practice and operations.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related field.
