QatarEnergy is hiring a Senior Maintenance Engineer for its Al-Rayyan field in Qatar. This role leads maintenance work across several engineering disciplines, with the aim of keeping production on track.
Role Purpose
The post holder takes charge of all planned and unplanned maintenance activities in the Al-Rayyan field, covering more than one discipline. The role is to meet the field’s production goals while protecting asset integrity and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work across mechanical, instrumentation and electrical areas in the Al-Rayyan field.
- Manage the delivery of mechanical, instrumentation and electrical maintenance programmes.
- Make sure that asset integrity and reliability requirements are met.
- Help the field reach its output goals by keeping equipment available and working well.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in an engineering discipline.
- At least 8 years of experience in the petrochemical industry in any maintenance discipline.
- Electrical maintenance experience is preferred.
- The ability to read and understand engineering drawings, P&IDs and cause and effect diagrams.

A senior maintenance engineer usually plans and supervises maintenance work, reviews the condition of equipment and works with operations teams to reduce unplanned downtime. In oil and gas facilities, this work often depends on accurate reading of technical drawings and a clear understanding of how control and shutdown systems respond to faults.
